Active-Passive Monitor
SE AP-2
Active-Passive Nearfield and Midfield Monitor |
A larger counterpart to the SE AP-1, the SE AP-2 employs the same 1” compression driver used in the SE MF-4, paired with dual 6-inch woofers for greater low-frequency authority and dynamic range. Engineered to the same ±1 dB linearity and < 0.5% harmonic distortion specification, the SE AP-2 reaches 111 dB SPL at 1 m while preserving the characteristic Strauss imaging and timbral neutrality. The result is a compact full-range monitor for mixing, mastering, and high-fidelity listening, delivering scale, control, and musicality in equal measure.

The SE AP-2 is engineered to deliver greater low-frequency extension, dynamic headroom, and acoustic scale than the AP-1 while preserving coherent source behavior and controlled radiation. Its dual 6.5-inch woofers increase displacement and low-frequency authority, while the compression driver and waveguide maintain stable directivity and consistent spatial definition through the listening area. The dedicated internal analog amplification is matched to the system to preserve control, low noise, and transient precision under higher output demands. The result is a compact full-range monitor with more weight, range, and headroom, while remaining tonally stable and predictable in real rooms.
